Book Nooks are a phenomenon that I have been aware of for some time now. I was asked to create a small medieval street a while back and since then the commissions have been pouring in! For those not familiar with the term, Book Nooks are tiny little dioramas that fit neatly between the books on your bookshelf. Miniature words that spark the imagination and inspire awe. Many of them evoke the feeling of wanting to shrink down and climb inside, leaving the real world behind.
I've made Nooks based on films and very well know book franchises (Any Muggles out there will know what I mean) Nooks commemorating meaningful holiday views, favourite cities (complete with tiny shops and signage) to miniature hidden fairy gardens. I've included harbours, castles, cathedrals, theatres, gay bars, engagement spots, gardens and so much more.
Often these pieces capture moments in time and cherished memories.
I take custom orders and each one is so different to the next. All come complete with lighting so that they can glow from your bookshelf at night (I use battery powered micro LEDs) I can also include sound too as shown in my Susperia and Lord of The Rings Nooks.
Use the contact form above if you'd like to commission a book nook of your own, and don't be shy, no idea is out of reach!
